Chapter 1: Just Married

Got some very happy news last night. Ron gets to come home on Thursday instead of Friday!  I miss him and will be so glad to have him home so we can start living our married life together instead of apart.  It's been harder than I thought having him gone, so I'm looking forward to some normalcy returning to the Pierce home.

Ron and I were married October 4th, 2014 in his mom's backyard.  It was a beautiful wedding ceremony and I can't wait to get our pictures from the photographer.  We began planning it in April of this year, and being able to have everything exactly the way we wanted was such a blessing!  We were lucky to have my mom and dad contribute financially, and the entire shindig cost around $5,000 dollars. (including photographer AND my dress).  I'll have more details about the wedding when I get the photographs.

Ronald is in the military.  That's why he has been gone.  He loves being part of the camaraderie and I'm happy he is able to pursue his passion on top of having a civilian job.  Being a military wife could mean future deployments, but I know our love is strong and we can get through anything the future has in store.  Military life is something I'm sure I will get used to, but so far it has been hard adjusting to being placed second on the priority totem pole.  I'm okay with it for the most part, but I know there are times when I want to be the only thing that matters. I think that is a normal feeling, though, especially for a brand new bride.

After Ron comes home, I hope we can start celebrating the Holidays, and YES I consider Halloween to be the beginning of the festivities.  I love watching scary movies and carving pumpkins, it's tradition to me and reminds me of happy times from my childhood.  My parents always decorated the house and so I can't wait to do the same for our children when the time comes.   Until then, I'll enjoy the time Ron and I have together, just the two of us.
