The trip was phenomenal! It was everything a Honeymoon in Hawaii could
be. We did so many wonderful things and
created memories that will last a lifetime!
Here’s my recap.
Friday, the night before we were supposed to leave, I ripped
my entire ring fingernail off. THE WHOLE
THING! It hurt badly, but I wrapped it
up and had to get over it. Because
Saturday morning we were taking-off. Ron
and I left for the airport at 6:30 in the morning. It was cold and gloomy here and we were
excited to get away from the winter weather.
The flight was five long hours and it couldn’t have been over soon
enough. They did serve breakfast on the
plane, but we wanted to get to Hawaii!
Upon arrival, we were ‘lei-d’.
Someone picked us up from the airport with a beautiful lei and took us
to our hotel. We settled right in by hanging
out around the base, and grabbing dinner at the Bibas in our Hotel.
The next day we were supposed to be picked up for a free
breakfast by a tour company, but they never showed up. So instead, we walked about a mile to Duke’s
on the beach! It was delicious and the
view was phenomenal. The rest of that
day we spent drinking at the Barefoot Bar on the beach.
Monday night we had out Luau at the hotel. Lots of drinking, eating, and watching the
performers. The very next morning we got up at 5am to go tour Pearl
Harbor. Ron was so glad we got to see
the USS Arizona Memorial, as well as the USS Missouri. We learned a lot about Pearl Harbor as well
as the rest of the war.
We went to Dukes again the next day and then on Thursday we
rented a car which we kept until Friday.
Thursday we drove up to the North shore and stopped to get shrimp from a
couple shrimp trucks, included Giovanni’s. We saw the Pipeline at the north
shore and ate Matsumoto Shaved Ice. It
was a great day! Friday we went snorkeling
in Hanauma Bay and it was just beautiful!!! So many schools of fish and we even
swam with a sea turtle.
Saturday we hung around the Hale Koa and did some last
minute shopping as we got ready to go home. All in all, it was a great trip
with my husband.
